Financial Planning for
West Park Senior Living
Beyond priceless peace of mind, senior living can be more cost-effective than remaining in your home. We understand that financial considerations are a significant part of this transition, and our goal is to provide clear, reassuring information to help you plan confidently.
How Much Does
Senior Living Cost?
The cost of senior living at West Park depends on the individual’s needs and required level of care. Before a new resident moves in, we conduct a comprehensive assessment to ensure we tailor our services to provide the best possible support and value.
Our all-inclusive monthly fee typically covers:
- Housing: Comfortable and secure accommodations
- Meals: Delicious, chef-prepared meals served daily
- Care Services: Personalized assistance with daily activities, medication management, and more (based on assessment)
- Housekeeping: Regular cleaning and linen services
- Activities & Programs: A vibrant social, recreational, and wellness calendar

Senior Living vs. Homeownership: A Cost Comparison
Many families are surprised to discover that the “all-inclusive” nature of senior living can often be more financially predictable and less burdensome than the ongoing costs of homeownership. When comparing, consider these everyday expenses associated with maintaining a home in San Dimas:
- Mortgage or Rent Payments
- Property Taxes
- Home Insurance
- Utilities: Electricity, gas, water, internet, cable, trash removal
- Home Maintenance & Repairs: Unexpected expenses for plumbing, roofing, appliances, landscaping, etc.
- Groceries & Meal Preparation
- Transportation Costs
- Out-of-Pocket Healthcare Expenses
- Social & Recreational Activities
West Park’s comprehensive services help save you time, stress, and often money by consolidating various expenses into one predictable monthly fee. This allows residents to enjoy their golden years without worrying about home upkeep.
Ways to Save on Senior Living Costs
At West Park Senior Living, affordability and flexibility are part of our promise:
- Veterans Benefits: Yes, we offer a $100 monthly rent discount for Veterans.
- Long-Term Care Insurance: Accepted for Assisted Living; residents must qualify for care services.
- Resident Referral Program: $1,000 rent credit for current residents who refer a friend; applied after the referral moves in and stays 90 days.
State Assistance Programs
We participate in CalAIM (California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal), which may help eligible residents with additional services.
CalAIM is a statewide initiative designed to make Medi-Cal services more coordinated and accessible, including for seniors who need support in a residential care setting. For eligible residents, CalAIM can provide funding for certain health- and housing-related services—such as personal care assistance, transportation to medical appointments, and care coordination—while living in an Assisted Living or Memory Care community. The goal is to help residents remain in the least restrictive, most home-like environment possible.
